i'm wondering if the CA has the same problem w/ the rocker arms like the SR20? if so does anyone know someone that makes a rocker arm stopper kit for it or if a SR kit can be modified to fit a CA. I've seen plenty of writeups about the rocker arms on the SR but not the CA. any help is much appreciated.

The CA doesn't have the same issues as an SR. It uses a cam-on-bucket design, which is superior to the SR20's rocker arms. Basically, the lifters are followers. Upgrades for the CA would be Tomei cams and solid lifters. There's more info if you search. Hope this helps.

The CA doesnt use rocker arms. It has a hydraulic lifter directly below the cams lobes, "cam on bucket style." They are great in stock trim and dont require maintanence. Older engine have been known to have clicky or noisy lifters due to poor oil flow or insuffucient oil flow. Upgrades can be done to the drivetrain which include but are not limited to solid lifters(require the correct lash adjusment), stiffer springs, bigger cams, stronger and lighter retainers, and oversized valves. Do a little bit of research on the subject as it can easily be found here and throughout most engine searches like google or yahoo.

thanks a lot. I've been a big honda guy for a few years. Nissans are still a new concept to me. I want to learn everything i can before i get too deep into my project, so i don't screw something up major. You guys are much easier to talk to than the honda guys. They're always ricer this and ricer that. Most won't even talk to you unless you have like 300 posts. +1 for all Nissan Owners.
