What and how exactly do rocker arm stoppers work?Does it have some kind of thing that allows the rocker arm to ride the camshaft, but it disengages it from the valve-side of it?I know (hope) its not something that it'd eat the cam..if the entire rocker arm just froze shut, when the cam went to come up, it would gauge into the cam, and then probably snap the bolt and break the arm off..anyway, I know I'm missing something here. Hopefully someone can explain to me.

the RAS is a bar of metal that mounts on top of the cam caps. the stopper part stops right above the rocker arm where it connects to the HLA. Valve float is when the rocker arm disconnects from the HLA. The RAS prevents that.

In oldscool Datsun L series designs. There was a spring retainer that held the rocker arm to the pivot.

Since you have a KADE, you don't need RAS. You have a cam on bucket design. The cam directly connects with the valve instead of using a rocker arm

Can this be applied to a pushrod engine...such as a 302? A friend of mine was interested in them because he was considering a manual swap on his engine that has well over 300 hp. However, with all that money and a new motor he doesnt want to hear that awful over-reving when he misses his first shift.
