Hi everyone...first timer here, considering a 2014 Rogue SL and comparing it to the competition. One thing I noticed doing a comparison is that there doesn't seem to be any free roadside assistance offered under warranty. Maybe the Rogue is just that good and none is needed. However, I'm seeing GM, Ford, Jeep and others offering free roadside for 60k miles. Does anyone know if it can be obtained through Nissan and should I just enroll in AAA for some? It's something I like to have when taking trips...peace of mind. Thanks....and by the way....this site is great!

It comes with it, they just dont advertise it since you wont need it like the brands you mention will.

IMHO the only reason to offer roadside assistance is to get service pieces back to the dealer, since they make more $$$ on service than on the margin selling new cars (people always shop price on a new car. Service, not so much)

Yes, thanks JB and Ras for the help. I've been Googling the Nissan roadside side assistance this morning and see that you can get it with an extended warranty policy. Without the extended warranty policy it seems kinda fuzzy. I saw where I would have to call a tow truck, find the nearest Nissan dealer and have it towed there, then wait to see if it is a warranty claim before getting reimbursed for the tow and service. This is somewhat roundabout, and maybe I have it wrong. The other manufacturers seem to have a better line of communication for direct towing and less hassle. No one seems to beat OnStar for emergencies on the road. I'm just torn between a Terrain/Equinox and the Rogue. The factory installed remote start is something the wife wants, and is standard on the Terrain SLT1 and Equinox LT2. I have GM cards point to throw at a GM vehicle. Hopefully I'll get to test drive a Rogue later this week to make a final decision. The GM direct injection engine issues make me think twice about them.

if free towing is the only thing standing between you and a nissan, GM, Ford, Jeep.... then i think you need to reevaluate the other main difference between nissan and GM, Ford, Jeep. believe me- its not the free towing. its the quality.

for $30 per year, i added free towing to my insurance policy. you might want to check that out as an option.

I agree with this ^^^^ 120%. Its a good chance that if you buy GM, ford, jeep, dodge, RAM, you will need towing at some point to get you off the side of the road. I have own a few nissans and have never been stranded on the road. The worst i had was being stuck at home because the battery died.
