Road Trip !

Alright, So, many of you guys have been talking about road trips lately and it made me what to do one myself. Therefore, sunday, after my weekend at Mont-Tremblant, I'll be picking up my brother in Montréal and we'll be driving down the east coast to Atlantic City. Monday will mainly be for the beach, and tuesday in Philadelphia for the Marlins-Phillis game. Wednesday is still to plan, but Thursday will also be for baseball (Braves-Mets in NY at noon). Thursday night, we'll sleep somewhere around Boston area beaches.

I have found our sunday and monday night bed thanks to http://www.couchsurfing.com. If someone in New York (or the suburbs) can host us on tuesday or wednesday night, it could be cool. Same thing applies for somewhere higher than NY on thursday night. You can contact me at [email protected] ! We'll probably end up sleeping in the car at least one night, but for two 6''2', the Versa might just not be big enough.

Just a little update on the road trip I did earlier this month:

Recorded my best MPG to date: 39 MPG for 679.8km of highway (US Borders in Lacolle to New Jersey) Recorded my worst MPG to date: 24 MPG for city drive (Manhattan and Queens).

Gas in the US is approximately 75% of the price in Canada. Duty-free alcohol is 50% of the price in Canada.

Ended up with PinkEye (Conjonctivitis) for swimming in the sea with my contact lenses on. Listened to eight consecutive hours of François Pérusse... Québécois know what it means.Phillies won against Marlins, Mets lost against Atlanta.

Yeah, it was fun ! But my brother's immaturity cost us a sleepless night, looking for a hotel in New York because he didn't plan his part of the trip... We ended up driving around Queens for hours during a severe thunder storm (the news talked about a tornado), slept one hour in the car in a residential neighborhood, finally deciding to drive down to Manhattan and go to The Big Apple Hostel.

Anyway, had some fun at the Ocean City beach, Atlantic City Casino, Phillies game, Manhattan and Mets game. Next, we'll plan better.

Wow. The hotel must have cost A LOT on such short notice. The cheapest hotel we could find when we went to NY last year was 189 a night in Queens, right up the street from the Mets stadium.
