Just finished a quick overnight road trip from Steel City to Motor City, some notes:

Rolled to 80K on the trip, ouch..Definite dearth of foreign cars in Detriot, don't know why I'm surprised though.. any M owners from Detroit here?

Checking in at the hotel front desk, two guys in a generic beige rental pulled up behind my M..I watched from inside as they both got out and gave it a long once-over, checking the rear badge twice . Maybe they were confused cause it was sooooo dirty. (Ohio tpk was a mess.)Then a city bus driver just about had his whole head out of his window trying to figure out what was next to him at the light, haha.

And after almost 600 miles of driving, I'm less than ONE mile from home and see another black Y34 coming at me. I flashed the lights and waved, but the other guy (an older gentleman) did not react. lol

From the Motor City. Yea there are not alot of these around. Very few people know what kind of car it is, even less will know when the temp heats up a bit and I can heat gun the M45 off the back of mine. I might leave just the M, I will gauge it when I get the 45 off and see if it looks to lonely.

I have only seen 2 other M's since they have been out. Matter of fact a guy that worked out at my gym had one new in 03, that is the first time I saw one and also when I fell in love.

Hope you stay in Detroit was good. What brought you here? Where did ya stay? Go anywhere cool downtown? New Casino?

I'm and M owner, from Minnesota with my car, here in Detroit for the Spring National Bridge Tournament until the end of the week.

Is that why you are here?

No casinos, my son and I were in town for a medical visit at DMC..stayed in Dearborn and ate in a funky steak joint called Kiernan's, hahaaaa...On the way home we usually stop at a place called Mallies (in Southfield?).

We've also been there for crew events..outside of Dearborn on the river, IIRC. my daughter rowed for Steel City Rowing Club.

Kinda funny, everybody here seems to think Detroit is so far from Pittsburgh, but we can get there about the same as going to Baltimore..heck even Philly is 330+ miles from here. We got home in about 4Hr 20 Min from Mallies, including stops for P and G. Construction on 75 screwed up our time getting out of Detroit.

Next time up I'll give you a heads up- maybe you can point us to another steak joint

Lol, yah, no kidding.

I got that at Valet yesterday and the gas station today :D

And I go to that gas station regularly too.

Some random guy at a drive-thru the other day also asked if it was new and how much I dropped :D

I guess I have to put pics up next time I get it detailed.
