hellooo, i am new to the 240SX community, and i plan on going to many track events in the next few months, and i was wondering what would be a good tire size set up for road racing and daily driving on a stock 1989 240SX coupe? im looking for the best grip for a stock car.

im planning on getting either 15x7, 16x7, or 15x8s.

thank you!

You seriously may want to reconsider daily drivng and racing on the same set of tires. It can get expensive in a hurry.

What I would recommend, even though Ive never used any of these tires, but theyre some that you should definitely look into.

You can run Advan A032R's every day and at the track, but they are extremely expensive

You could do the same with A048's, but they are even more expensive.

Or you could just run regular crappy tires every day, and get some Toyo RA-1's, or Avon racing tires, or ventus racing tires, or hoosiers.

You will probably get better lap times with the latter option anyway, its what I would, and currently do.

will these be your first track events?

if so you shouldnt run any race rubber of any kind, because its better to learn on a max performance street tire than it is on race tires, your mistakes will be more apparent on street tires and youll learn to correct them, on race tires theyll just be hidden and you wont learn from your mistakes to become faster

something like a hankook rs2, falken rt615, or kuhmo mx would be what youd look for

also run something wider than what youre looking at, 240s are heavy enough to use a wider tire than what you can run on the sizes youre talking about
