My new 2000 Y33 is very, very refined apart from one point. There seems to be some road noise from one tire in particular. The drivers side front. All tires are Michelens. Why would this be. Could it be uneven wear?

Does sound like it (pun intended.)

Have you tried tire rotating to see if it goes to the another wheel? You might also consider checking to see if the tire has a flaw in it. Some out-of-roundness can happen in a faulty tire and can be replaced under most tire warranties.

rotate it and see if the noise moves..if not..it may be a hub bearing or something else.

I haven't checked the alignment. Only had the car 2 weeks. I will take it in maybe this weekend and have it checked and the tires rotated. The tires I have are Michelins 235 50's on 17 inch rims and they are the HMMX variety. What is your experience of these tires in terms of road noise in general. Also I will need to buy some winter tires soon for the MA winter. I had previous positive experience with Pirelli Winter Sports but not sure this time around what is the best choice. My priorities (after winter grip) are noise and ride

HX MX what?

Theres a HX MXM and a HX MXM4, neither are noisy. THe MXM4 is actually quite quiet and comfortable. Is it 235-50 all around? on a Z33 it should be 225 front and 235 rear...

-ChetMichelin makes damned good tires, and if there's a noise issue with them, i'd bet it was cused by something else.
