It will actually lower the decibel reading by 4-8 depending on how much coverage you put in the trunk/wheel well area. I don't have it in my Z, but have a few Z34 customers who bought it specifically for this purpose and are pleased with the results. If you are fine with that range of decibel decrease, GTMat Onyx will work perfectly. If you are seeking more, I do recommend starting with GTMat and then completing the project with closed cell foam and mass loaded vinyl. Give me a call if you want to discuss this or get a quote for your project!tfree32 wrote:Thanks for the advice. I'm planning to have a local shop do the install, as I lack the time and mechanical ability. Once concern I have is that at least some of the road noise seems to come from the wheel wells and I'm not sure how much difference Dynomat or GT Mat would help with that. What would you estimate is the percentage of noise reduction in the cabin after a full car kit install? I know many are focused on better quality music from their sound system. For me, the priority is better call quality when I'm using my Bluetooth. Better sound quality from the stereo is just a bonus. So I'd like to be able to talk on the phone with a lot less road noise in the background. How much would this help with that?
A lot %? I didn't measure it. We put it in a 35 year old truck so the difference is remarkable. It surprises me that you would have an issue, considering the G is so new but I have no doubt the GTMat would help you. Good luck!tfree32 wrote: What would you estimate is the percentage of noise reduction in the cabin after a full car kit install?
