I've been noticing that when I'm driving is snowy or wet road conditions, there has been a lot of road noise coming from the trunk area. It sounds as if the door isn't closed properly. Anyone notice this as well?

Yep. A lot of people. That was discussed a while ago. It is not easy to fix. You will have to put some noise blockers under the panels like this: Phillipa probably could explain more...

Yes, road/tire noise from the hatch area is a common complaint. Hatchback style vehicles (with the cargo area open to the passenger compartment) are sometimes noisier that a sedan with a separate trunk.

There are a few things you can do:

1 - Invest in a tonneau cover for the hatch area. Nissan part #H4982-JM50A (black) H4982-JM50B (grey)

2 - Remove the cargo area interior panels and line them with Dynamat/sound deadener like Leo2005 suggested.

3 - If your Rogue came equipped with Continental Tires, exchange them with another brand. Some members have noticed less noise with better tires ie. Toyo TRZ
