What kind of road noise under what circumstances do you hear? My 2015 has an almost Mercedes like absence of road noise compared to my 2012

Can you clarify whether you have the run slat tires (family package)/17" tires/18" tires?

After we purchased our 2015 Rogue, I noticed there was 50 psi in the tires according to dash gauge. I lowered the air to 35 psi cold and the road noise and handling was not good. It felt spongy on curves. I raised the air back up to 40 psi cold and it made it quieter and handling was better. I know it recommends 33 psi, but the max on tires is 51 psi. Im gonna keep an eye on wear. We have the 17" wheels with the Hankook tires. Hankook tires tend to be a little noisey anyways.
Before we purchased the Rogue, we owned a 2015 Altima S with 16" Hankook tires and then a 2015 altima SV with 17" Michelins, It was night and day with road noise. The Michelins were so much more quieter. But it also lowered the mpg a considerable amount. At least 5 mpg.

At 33psi my 2015 with 18" wheels handles just fine. The 2012 handled sportier but it was also so much more harsh over bumps. Iiterally feel less than half the bumps I did in the 2012. Probably much less than a third actually. It's insane. I barely feel bumps in the 2015 and road noise is virtually nonexistent.

Too much road noise when traveling on concrete Highways. Is there an economical work around.? Can you put something in the spare tire area and "blanket" the cargo area?

1. USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION. Every topic you can come up with, has already been discussed. Sorry, but your question doesn't deserve its own thread, if a thread is already open. If the topic has not been discussed, then feel free to create a new thread.

If you fail to follow the above rules, you will be issued infraction points. Enough points, and you will be banned. We (mods) simply do not have enough time to handle all the small stuff. It's your job to follow the rules. It's our job to tidy things up - not babysit.

My tires are the stock 17" Dynapro HT. The noise seems to be on my right. It is a combination of wind noise?( no roof racks) and sound eminating from the wheel wells and the rear cargo area. Can I layer something into the cargo and spare tire areas to absorb the road noise?

There are big differences between the 1st gen Rogue and 2nd gen Rogue, and what works for one might not work for the other. The threads you linked seem to be for the older Rogue.

They are for the first gen, and the sound proofing ideas and suggestions are still valid.

I take it back... It took a trip to FL for me to realize that my Rogue has funny steering. There is almost no on center feel and it just wants to drift in one direction or the other. It was very taxing on my wrist during the second half of the 17 hour ttrip
