I had a pretty bad day today coming home from school. There was some road construction and they were repaving the street. So the top layer was taken off leaving the sewer caps and other stuff extremely high in the air. I turned onto the street, looking at the cars coming down the lane and bam, hit this big square thing 4 inches in the air. I lady in another car saw me and cringed. The fiberglass cracked slightly and some of the paint chipped. I don't know what to do. I try to keep my car as clean as possible. But i feel even if i repaint it its just going to crack on something else. Especially with me going a tad lower soon. Anybody have any suggestions? I'm thinking of making a carbon fiber splitter so that will take most of the damage.

then i got stuck in traffic. and there was a huge dead possum in the road. so i had to get in the other lane otherwise my bumper wouldve just dragged it along. but no one would let me in. finally some guy with a xb was kind enough to let me in

well unlike these other guys, i feel your pain. that really sucks. and i think you should have a talk with the construction company. they should not have let you drive on that with a 3-4" high sewer cap sticking out. you should take your bumper off and reinforce the hell out of the back of it with a ton of fiberglass so it just bounces off of things like that. and if your going to go lower, you need to pay more attention cause your pretty low already. sorry to hear about that.

dude just leave it, especially if you plan on going any lower. battle scars are part of the game, i exploded my origin bumper on a clipping point first event of the season.

they'll just say no one should be driving a car that low anyway. i agree those its pretty s***. The crack didnt go all the way through. So i dont think extra fiberglass would help. and the paint would always chip. and yes i shouldve been paying more attention. I saw it at the last second and thought it would just scrape maybe. im usually pretty good about driving carefully. I was in a hurry and just wasnt thinking.

man thats s***. happens to me a lot though, but i was running the pignose front. now i just got a fiberglass front so we'll see how long it lasts. i expect it to explode into several pieces in the near future.

i respect your desire to have a clean car, but how much was that kit really? probably a knock off that you could get again for about $400 i assume. i recall you rattle canned your car white too, so paint shouldnt be an issue. if you are really annoyed by it then

get duraflexxxxxx lol. jk. dont get duraflexxxxxxxx. but if you are going to have your car low and with a kit like that. its kinda expected... seriously. there really isnt much you could do. a buddy of mine has an rx-7 so low, his kit gets caught up on lane divider bump thingies. he learned to change lanes in between the dots. but seriously, i would never go that out of my way. i would suggest something like a metal guard. you can rivet/zip tie it on right under the lip of the front bumper lip with a tiny bit (maybe 1/16") on the front... kinda how people put stop signs under their 240s so they dont scrape their transmission... but for your bumper.

I cried a little when I saw those pics.

But you can fix it at least. A little bit of glaze and some reinforcement of the resin from behind and it should be as good as new.

Atleast it didn't destroy you're oil pan and lock up your motor. It sucks but what you have there is easily fixed.

yea its a knock off. i would just fix it with fiberglass before i bought a new one though. and i painted the car in my garage by myself. my dad only helps with engine repairs because he knows way more than me in that area.

really man? you just reminded me of my fitment like yesterday! haha. once i burn up this tires like i said ill get that all worked out with spacers and such

Whats wrong with his wheel fitment? More rubber would be nice, but the fitment looks good.

Sucks to hear about the bumper man. Keeping a clean car is a pretty hard task, especially when its low like yours. Like everyone said though, should be an easy fix.

i dont get why people are saying "wow its no big deal". Obviously it could have been way worse as the bumper is still in one piece, but with a car that clean, little things like that drive you insane. I would repaint the bumper since you know how to do it yourself, and i would get some kind of lip to protect it from that kind of stuff
