I didn't know what to tell him, so I just told him that there would probably be 10-20 drivers, all amateur. still confused by what he meant.
Good afternoon.
There are a number of ways to get track time at Road Atlanta. I suggest you sign up for one of the HPDE's (High Performance Driving Event) that are held monthly by different organizations.
- BMW CCA (no, you usually don't have to be a member to participate) provide instructors for drivers new to Road Atlanta.- PCA - harder to get into- Barber Motorsports (now has rights to Panoz track days)- CHIN Motorsports - mostly Florida events, but some at RA and Barber in Birmingham
Costs vary, but none of these formats are cheap. I suggest choosing one that provides an instructor so you can learn the most for your money.
I also suggest hitting events from Mar- May and from Sept.-Nov. June-August is so hot; it's very hard on man & machine.
Have fun.Chris
