Hi guys, looking at getting an RNU12 4WD CA18DET ATTESSA bluebirdJust a quick question (not a quick answer to it though I'm sure)It is an automatic, was wondering to do a manual conversion is it possible to use a RWD CA18DE(T) box, converting it to RWD in the process?Cheers

I highly doubt it. The engine sits transverse like a FWD so you would need to spin the motor 90 degrees and try to fit the RWD transmission in a place never designed to house it. It would be an epic project and unless you are participating in Monster Garage or something with unlimited cash and resources likely beyond your reach.

Cheers for that.I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled for a 4WD box to convert withAnyone here done this type of conversion before? From the limited amount of information I've found it seems to be a fairly typical conversion

I've seen a few of those old 4WD blubirds, never wrenched on them though. I would hold out for a manual box that is still in the donor car so you can get a good look at the difference and make sure you get all the parts you need.Off the top of my head you would needtransmissionflywheel and clutchmaster and slave cylider with all the lines

possiblytranny mountshalfshaftsfront jackshaft

You can jump the neutral safety switch and the automatic computer will be fine.

Cheers, I heard the ECU may need to be changed but it's alright, they are cheap as buggery anyway if needed :D
