I have a 1992 240sx, the manufacture plate on the firewall lists the car as chassis code RMS-13.

How does an RMS-13 differ from an RPS-13? (Aside from the things that would make it a USDM vehicle)

Does the "M" simply designate a minor change over the 89's?

Thanks.

RPS13 is an SR20-powered 180SX(hatch), RS13 is a CA18-powered 180SX(hatch), PS13 is an SR20-powered Silvia(trunk), S13 is a CA18-powered Silvia(trunk). Following this example I would assume you have a KA24-powered 240SX(hatch).

Yeah, that's true...It has the KA motor. So all the bodys are the same (minus the engine)?

Same platform. The chassis aren't exactly the same, but they're the same platform, hence the S13.

The M is the KA.

P is the SR.

Nothing is the CA.

The R is the fastback/hatchback version.

Which would actually be an HRMS13 I think.

K is for HICAS

and like I said 2 posts up, H is for convertible.

Odd though, you would assume H for HICAS, but it's not like that.
