I'm sure most people on here by now know about Racing Line's Traction Bar kit. But I'm not sure anyone installed it themselves. well, I just finished my install and want to give my comments and some suggestions for anyone wanting to do it themselves.
So, First off, i know im not the first to say this but it is of really good quality, your getting you moneys worth.

So now is my assessment of the instructions, although they were good there is a little more they could add and correct.
Tools I used:
spare tire jack
braker bar (1/2 in)
3/8 ratchet
21mm socket (1/2in)
19mm socket (3/8 inch)
16mm socket (1/2 inch and 3/8 inch) (not 15mm socket like they tell you, ill explain)
19mm wrench
9/16 inch wrench (i think lol)

My comments:
1) make sure you have everything! put everything together
2)the instruction for the bushing assembly are a little vuage, ill be a little more detailed; bolt/tapered washer (taper facing swivel joint)/ tapered washer(same)/ big washer/bushing/bushing/big washer/nut that has rubber insert/regular nut.. then disassemble it.
2) connect the TB rod to the bracket and swivel joint that goes to the ctrl. arm, there are notches on one end, that goes towards the ctrl arm. Keep it that way! It'll save you some frustration when your under the car and trying to thread the bar to the bracket. I may be wrong but the two bars are different thread direction. spent to long trying to connect the bar to the bracket, ended up taking the swivel joint off the bracket and trying to do it, wouldnt go, used the other one and it worked. another note; to make it equal on both ends thread them all the way in, then back them out equally!
3) rotate the tires so the back faces out, gives you more room, using 1/2inch breaker bar & sockets loosen the 21mm bolt just over hand loose, then loosen all 4 16mm bolts (RL says they are 15mm, unless my car is special they made a small error or I misunderstood it).
4) take out the 2 outside 16mm bolts(facing you) and slide the bracket in, get one bolt in and move the bracket untill the 2nd one slides in.
5) snug all the bolts back in good to equalize pressure and make sure fitment is good, then tighten them good but not more then they were first off.
6) lower the car untill there is good weight on the tire because otherwise it's more of a pain getting the bushing/big washer in place on the bottom.
6) before trying to install the bolt parts previously mentioned take the bar until the bolt is centered pretty good on the ctrl arm holding ctrl arm swivel joint and bolt to it, then on the bolt put in tapered washer/swivel joint/tapered washer/ bushing.
7) get it in position, then put the 2nd bushing it and washer, you will have to fiddle with it to get enough room to put on the first top bolt.
8) take the wrench and put it on the nut on top, then tighten from the bottom using the 3/8 and 19mm socket.
9) RL says tighten bushings 25%, I tightened until there was almost enough thread to fully put on the second nut.
10) put on the second nut and snug it against the bottom one, take the 19mm and 9/16inch wrench, tighten the top one while loosening the bottom one till you cant anymore, that locks them together.
11) lower the car fully, twist the bar by hand until you have trouble tightening it more, take the swivel joint nuts and snug them against the bar to lock it.
12) jack the car back up
13) using 19mm wrench, tighten the nuts you snugged against the bar. tighten the bolt on the bracket that holds it in place too (DONT FORGET THAT!).
14) double check everything!
15) do the same on the other side and your DONE!!! :naughty:

Now, the instructions will help give you an idea of what I'm talking about with pictures so dont worry.

Time; the first side freaking took too long, I noted things that will prevent that for you. the second side took maybe 15-20 min cuz then I knew the best way to do it.

I hope this will help anyone doing this on their own, I did this in my colleges parking lot. if racing line would like they can use what I wrote to modify their instructions.

Results; cant say just yet, it's mid day and I dont feel like getting a ticket lol, I will test it tonight to get an idea. The real test will be tomorrow if the weather is good, if yes, I'm GOING TO THE TRACK and will see what happens  . Hope everyone who read this enjoys this.

glad to hear that :chuckle: ! I can give everyone a good perspective on this really cool mod! First off; if your a person that likes to feel connected to your car I have one thing to say... GET THIS THING(my opinion, i dont regret getting it)!!
Road feel is really different, a lot more feedback and the car feels noticably more solid! turning feels better as well.
I say it's as good as their STS kit.
Now i didnt just go for a drive, I also took it to the track. the car feels a lot more solid launching, but you still can spin the tires, only thing is they dont hop. I cant say it is entirely because of this mod but my times were also a LOT more consistant, when I stayed in the same lane my times were within .1 of a second or so, and each time i went a little better on my 60ft. by experimenting. made it to the semi's but got eliminated because I went under my time, oh well. I had a blast! If you get this i dont think you will be doing yourself wrong, I do think though a 6spd will notice this more then the CVT.

i have a cvt. i was really considering getting this, but i don't want something that i won't notice due to the crappy cvt. on other news, i read that the new altima might come with a 2.0 turbo. sorry just had to bring it up lol.

Don't get me wrong please! I only said that because my car has an uncanny habit to spin it's tires and it helped with that. Regardless of transmission you will love this mod. Driving after this is quite different so even driving is better and more fun. Your front end will feel a lot tighter! That alone is worth it! It feels like the car has transformed a lip lol. Even if I had a cvt, and I knew what I know, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this! You will notice a really gd difference!

Wade, I know it's been over three years since your post, but I just had to thank you so much! I just installed my kit earlier today & without your great instructions I probably would still be in the garage trying to figure it out. I felt the instructions enclosed in the kit were vague & confusing, and the print quality was poor. The racingline.com link for online instructions led to nowhere, & my email to racingline went unanswered going on a week now. Again, grateful thanks. It's dark already, so I'll wait 'til tomorrow to test it on the road.

It's been almost 2 weeks & about 500 miles since I installed the RL traction rods. Torque steer & wheel hop almost totally eliminated. Understeer greatly reduced. Overall, suspension feels noticeably tighter. Definitely worth the time & expense. Next is RSB & endlinks, but I'm having trouble deciding between Stillen & RL.

Another thanks on the writeup! Definitely needed the clarification on the order in which to assemble everything.
I think the install would have gone without a hitch had it not been for one of the brackets not being made just right... One side is bent just a little so I can't fit both tapered washers and the swivel joint in between the brackets (?). Sooo I'll be taking a trip to a machine shop in a day or two to try and get this straightened out... :tisk:
