Dio was indeed a legend. Even at his advanced age, he still had pipes that most folks could only dream about having. I'll make sure to play some Rainbow tonight.

Well this sucks. It's true we had warning, but seriously, too many legends have died this last year...

I'm surprised Ozzy and Keith Richards are still alive and kicking? I guess they have enough drugs floating in their systems to kill most any disease or ailment that comes their way.

I saw Dio in 1992 when he was fronting Black Sabbath during the "Dehumanizer" tour. It was one of the best concerts I've ever attended.

I met Dio in person a year and a half later. He was doing some work on I think the "Angry Machines" album in Toronto. I was working close to the studio and I aways had a couple of Dio items on my person in case I ever ran into him and Vinny Appice. He was incredibly easy to approach. We made some small talk and both him and Vinny signed the VHS sleeve for "Time Machine", Dio's video anthology and the CD book for "Lock up the wolves". Then they asked me where the closest "really good" East Indian restaurant was (I'm of East Indian orgin). They where both craving spicy food.

I heard about this earlier. Sucks balls. I listened to some Holy Diver as a remembrance.

I tried to embed this video, but I guess it will just have to go as a dull code. Love the Iommi signature SG with silver cross fretboard inlays, would buy.

It's really odd when someone you actually care about dies. From Cobain to, most recently, Peter Steele, I think Dio is the single famous musician in my lifetime that's died that I actually gave a crap about. Rhoads, Burton and Segovia were great losses also, but I was 2, 6 and 7 at the time, so I was too young to understand. I still dont think I've fully digested the fact that Dio is no more.
