Hello,
So i'm pretty sure my KA's piston rings are bad. there's no smoke coming outta the tail pipe, there's no oil leak, but there's a smell of oil which leads me to believe my rings are f***. has anyone ever used products like motor honey, or a ring sealant? I'm curious to see whether or not that'll help or if it's helped anyone else.
thanks,
Paul

Have you checked your PCV system? You could always perform a leak down test, but usually if your rings were bad you would notice slight smoke from the exhaust, oil consumption, rough running.

Check your compression, if its lower than spec, then you rings might be bad.

Bad rings are usually followed by blueish exhaust smoke. Things like Motor Honey are just band aids. The idea is to thicken the viscosity of the oil so it doesn't go past the rings.
