ring end gap specs

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

im looking for, and cant seem to find the ring end gap specs for the ka-e im rebuilding. anyonw have them handy?

ive reached this stage in assembly and come to a screaming hault b/c of this. any and all help is greatly appreciated.

go to the 240 gen section and click on the sticky for a free fsm, then download it and itll probably be there.

found it. went to nissan and talked to a "tech". its .020" for all the rings.

the "tech" couldn't seem to read the service manual, so he just handed it to me.

its sad that im more knowledgable and qualified than that guy, yet they wont let me do anything more than change oil....

What does ring gap signify? I would make the assumption that it would tell us that there was .xx" in wear on the walls? am I missing something? Also, wouldn't this be different with gapless rings.
