I purchased my 2007 G35x this spring. Will need winter tires & figured I'd get rims as well since I plan on keeping the car for several years. Can anyone give me info on specific winter tires with which you've had good luck? I have browsed online & Sears seems to have a decent selection of both tires & rims with a variety of price points. I don't want to break the bank but also don't want to cheap out at the expense of safety & good looks.

Thanks for your help.

Most seem to lean towards - Blizzak. While I would love to go this route, maybe with the Blizzak WS-60, I have a feeling I may have to go with what I did last year and that was the stock tires.

In reality I did very well with them in snow that stopped almost everyone else and left me with trying to use the car as a plow.

Perry is right, with this car tires for winter is not that important, i look forward to icy roads, and snowy roads before the plow trucks go through!!!

Not using winter tires is not an option with my driveway. I'd end up stopped in the middle of my driveway since it's a hill. Not to mention, there are many days that I go to work & the roads haven't been plowed. I've been on the interstate at night with over a foot of unplowed snow. I live in a rural area & I need to know I'm going to get to my destination. So, winter tires will be put on my car.

I am not stating you should not put better tires on, only that I have gotten away without doing so and with my current budget may be forced to do so again.

The worst part so far was the fact that the plows did not come out and there were many places with huge ruts due to everyone driving in everyone elses path. The car bottomed out on occassion but it always went everywhere I pointed it at and that meant going up the hill in front of my house although I did on one occassion had to go down it first. This is the reason I would not suggest ever lowering an X unless you are using it only in dry or rainy conditions. In my location I find clearance wise it barely works now. I liked being the first one on the road since that made for easier driving.

I would look at the suggested tires, I am sure there are others but these seem to have very good ratings and are affordable for many and I may even have to give up a meal or two and get them myself.

Tirerack.com has Blizzak LM-22's on sale right now. I have just picked up a set to run on some 17" 350z rims for winters on my G35 coupe.
