looking at another thread of a red coupe with new rims, made me start thinking about rims lol i'm currently not working (just going to school full time) but when i do start working i plan to do a bunch of stuff to my car... so i started looking at rims, i want something nice but also something light weight but after looking around its always one or the other PLUS light weight wheels tend to be insanly expensive... so i saw these on tirerack.com

they look nice but i sort of thought it would be nice if they looked a little different. then i remember my friend had a local shop paint his rims black for him.... what do you guys think about part of this rim being painted black? keep the lip and spokes that polished color.... well, i tried to ghetto shop it (use paint since i dont know how to use photoshop lol)

let me know what you guys think.... oh ya and these rims weigh 21 pounds for 18's and only 17.6 pounds for 17" rims!

They are a bit heavier, but have you considered just getting one of these?

From your past posts, it is my understanding that you are into performance. If that is the case, you should really consider light weight wheels, specially forged wheels, they tend to be lighter and stronger than cast wheels. What size are you considering? Again, if for performance, 18 will be best IMO.How much do you want to spend?

i like performance but i also want something that looks good and i know most people dont agree with me but i still like the sort of chrome or polished look lol i was looking on tirerack and all the forged wheels where like $400 a rim! these ones are $154 each if i can remember correctly (just woke up). my actual goal is for something that looks nice BUT not heavier then stock. stock rims are i think 26 pounds if i can remember correctly and if these 18's are only 21, thats not bad

ya i was a fan of the Type 12's but they're heavier and it looks like the spokes might be thicker but overall the type 12's look almost exactly like what i'm talking about.... oh ya plus the ones i'm looking at have a polished lip that sticks out a little bit (i kind of like that) and the Type 12 doesnt have any lip

I was ok without the lip on the Type 12's, but I don't like that the face is completely flat, but it was hard to tell from the Tirerack website. I do like the looks of Black N'White's wheels though, similar design with a concave face.
