Thanks for the Tip. I had no idea. This really makes me think twice about changing out rims.driverdriver wrote:If you have a 1993 or 1994 J30"t" with HICAS, disable the HICAS systems before installing rims greater than 16". Otherwise you'll screw up the HICAS system.
if your J is a 93-94 touring model with HICAS the largest you can go is 1 w/o disabling the HICAS...if you disable it you can go up to 20in...personally i was going to go with the the M45 19's but when i found out how expensive and rare 19in tires were to find i decided to just go with an 18...got my rims and tires $1010.00....18 x 7.5 w/ a 2in lip....there some knock off no name brand called RAIZ but they look great and ride wonderful...i dont know the offset offhand but i do know the tires are 245/24R18s...youve got to remember that the bigger the rim the thinner the tire...18 was the best all around where i would still have enough tread especially on the roads here in Houston....dont have any imiediate pics but heres a vid of my exhaust which starts out focused on my rear passenger side rim...hope this helps in your decisionj30t_Dan wrote:Tax returns are on their way. Which means I get to treat the J to some new shoes and brakes. What and where should I buy my rims. I am looking somewhere inbetween 17 and 20... around 1000. Let me know what you think.
