Im looking at possibly buying a set of used rims. The specs are

front: 19 x 8.5 offset +42mm weight 26lbs 2 inch liprear: 19 x 9.5 offset +45mm weight 27lbs 2.5 inch liphub centric rings for 60.1mm bore5x114.3 bolt pattern

I wonder how these will fit and look. I want that flush look.

What you guys think?

What year Q?? +42 & +45 will be very tucked on 1st or 2nd gen. On my 2nd gen, with 19x8 +20 and 19x9.5 +20, the fronts are still a little tucked, but the rears are perfect.

On a 1994, you are much better off with about 35mm offset for those wheels (and I am still not sure that it would work out).

With 33mm, you would likely need to roll the fender (particularly in the back) - with 38mm, you might be able to squeak by. The problem is that with 19", the section profile of the tires doesn't really leave you any room for error - you either hit the suspension stuff, or need rolling.

I believe that what you are looking at (42 and 45mm) may easily touch suspension components with the tires, particularly the 45mm with 9.5" width in the rear. And, these will not be the "flush" look you want with the fender ... much too sunk in probably.

You could get 10mm spacers (converts that 42mm to 32mm, and the 45mm down to 35mm). This still does not guarantee a fit, since 19" wheels, with 8" and 9.5" widths, makes the tire section profile quite difficult to fit, IMHO. I think you might need to roll the fenders (particularly in the front) to be safe, but I think you would probably clear the suspension components (am not 100% sure though!).

BTW, I am the wrong person to ask for advice on spacers! As Falk will tell you (he disagrees with my opinion here), I happen to dislike spacers intensely, since I think they can cause balance problems, safety issues, etc. I believe that it is far safer to get wheels with the correct offset in the first place. YMMV, of course! So, the decision is yours!

The 8.5s are hard to fit in the front.. I had 8.5s with 37mm offset, they fit pretty flush and they still rubbed the 3rd link just a tiny bit on full lock turns...

8in wheels are much easier to fit in the front, plus you dont really need anything wider than that.. 30mm offset is perfect for the front, you could probably run a 255 tire assuming 26in OD...

9.5s in the back is good with 45mm offset.. i think thats what Jeff's wheels are (with a 275 tire).. It should be good.. You can run a SLIGHTLY wider tire to make them look a little flusher... if theyre a little sunken you can run a 285 instead of a 275... wont look bulged but will help even things out...

I am running 8" x 18" with a 35 MM offset on the front, with a 2 MM spacer, to clear the 300zx calipers.

On the rear, I have 9" x 18" with a 45 MM offset. I also runt the 2 MM spacer, for visual effect.

The wheels have a nice flush look to them.

On the front, I am running 245/45/18 (a little oversized). They rub on big dips at high speeds. I really can't tell if it is the mud flaps scraping the ground, or the tires scraping the fenders. It is probably the tires scraping the fenders. It is so light, and infrequent, that I have not found any wear on the fender or the tires.

On the rear, I am running 275/35/18 (exact OEM size). I plan to go to 275/40/18 when I use these up. The sidewalls of the fronts and rears are off enough, to bother me a bit. Also, I should get a few more MPH at redline in 3rd gear.

Of course, I have not lowered the car, yet. When I do, I will roll the fenders just for the fun of it.
