I am trying to get feedback on whether or not I should get these tires and rims. Please let me know what you think.

Cannot tell to which rims you are referring. Forged and hubcentric are the best. Joe sells Nismo.

Definitiely don't get the Avids.

Look at Michelin Sport PS2 if you are going large. Stock size in XGTV were OK as long as it didn't rain.

The rims are AT Italia 10 Razze Light Grey Painted 16x7.5 I'm planning on putting 225/55/R16 tires on them, just not sure on the W, V, or Z ratinig, though.

On a 7.5" wheel, I'd be looking at 245/50/16's to preserve adequate load rating.

Good choices otherwise though!

Those Modas are well built wheels in your last choice. My Dad had 19's on his 93 SEL 500. That car is huge and heavy. They handled it very well.

Quality wheels and tires are key on the Q. Putting cheap wheels/tires on the Q was once likened to clogs on a Carl Lewis.

Not sure on the wheels, as that link didn't work, but quality 16's or 17's will cost, it may be better to find some Q45 take offs, just make sure they're still "round" and can be balanced. Be careful not to fall into the "I don't drive 125mph, so I dont need high speed rated tires" trap. The speed rating as well as the load rating both are "as new" values, and are rarely tested at any real "miles". Thus, you may not be meeting your lower values when you get to the 15 or 20k range.

If you drive remotely hard sometimes youll want the stiffer sidewalls on the Z rated tires...

BY FAR the best buy you can get are the take offs from another infiniti.. lightweight and inexpensive... unless you score a helluva deal on ebay... Id always recommend getting used quality wheels over getting new iffy wheels...

Id probably want to stick with 17inchers, and you could put a 255-50-17 (so long as its not lowered), for one massive tire and TONS of load rating... 245-45-17 would be adequate htough..

It really depends how much you want to spend.. Sure, not much compares to the pilots, but there are good tires (GOOD) for now much money... 245-45-17 sumitomo HTRZII are only $95 each and they are great tires, im running them on the Q.....

Id continually search ebay for "nissan wheels, infiniti wheels, volk wheels, OZ wheels" and so on... you can really get some screaming deals if you be patient...

Having done a lot of research on wheels and tires, I agree with the responses above!

Wes is right that a 17"x7.5" (preferably 17"x8") wheel with a 35 to 38mm offset, with 245/45-17 tires will be a good bet for the future. Lots of tires with the correct load index in that size available are at Tire Rack.

Also, if you can swing the higher costs, than an 18"x8" wheel with 35mm offset, with 245/45-18 tires is another possibility.

Finally, if you can get used 16"x8" or 16"x8.5" rims from a 300ZX Turbo, that would be good too, but it is tough to find those that are still in usable shape and have not been beaten up too much. Plus, good tire selections in 16" are starting to dwindle a bit.

Just for the record, using a higher offset rim (say 35+) with a 245-45-18 tire running the eibach springs will cause the tires to rub on the inner suspension

If the car is lowered you would need to run a little lower offset, probably more aroudn 30ish.. Not ideal but i think having them stick out half a centimeter and having a big beefy tire is MUCH better than running the inferior 245-40 and not even getting the minimum.

Points well taken! In my comments, I do assume no lowering. I shoot to make the tire/wheel fit properly in the wheel well.

I thank all of you for your input on this matter. As far as rim sizes go, I am trying to stay away from what I consider the "blingin" rims (18" and above) and want to stick with 16 or 17 inch rims. Again, I appreciate all that has been said and will take it all into consideration when I go to actually purchase the rims and tires.

Please feel free to keep posting here as long as you like.

If you have faith in 16" 255/50-16 availability, you can get the Z32TT rear rims from Joe new.

Ask him. seems like they were $260 a year or so ago. Hubcentric OEM. Don't know if they are forged or not.

Better to just get a set off ebay...

I sitll like the take off idea better... most 16 in wheels on ebay (infintii or non OEM) will be cheap.

Not with the 50+% rejection rate for failing to meet OEM specifications as cited by Q45tech.

Cheaper and time saving to buy new.

I found a set of rims that arent' too bad for $90 apiece at a place close to where I live. I think I'm gonna go with those and put some Kumo ZR-1 (?) tires on them. 245/40VR17 I think.

As for a set of replacement tires for the ones that are on there now (almost bald) I'm going to go with some Khumo Ectras(?) 225/60R15 (possible V rating, but not sure)

You really need to read Q45tech's posts. A little reading can save you a lot of money. A lot of reading can save your car, or more.

Ok everyone...I know it's been a while since the last post in here, but I just thought that I'd let everyone know what I've finally decided to do. I'm going with a set of 17" Konig Prophet rims in Opal. As for tires, I have to see what's available in my price range and what would look good on the car. Anyway, just thought I'd keep you all posted on what's going on. L8R
