Post

Hello,
I recently upgraded to a 2013 M37xS from a 2006 M35. I had the Nissan 370z 19" Anniversary Edition gunmetal rims on there. I also had the tire size 245/40/19 on all 4 rims, so there is a slight stretch on the rear wheels given its 10.5. My question is, can I use this setup on my current vehicle? Can anyone confirm/deny that you need to have all rims the same size on an awd vehicle and can i get away with this since i'm using the same tires all around? Has anyone else gone from 20" to 19"?

Let me know!
Thanks,
Vinny.

19" on this car look small to me and it may be a little funky to the AWD and ABS systems, but I think it could physically work. Aside from that I've run staggered wheels with the AWD and no issues as long as the tires have the same (within 3% I've read) overall diameter.

^^^That was lowered on Eibach springs and with 255/40 front and 285/35 rear so if you do choose to go with the Z 19s definitely get coilovers.

It'll throw your speedometer off but it'll work...the correct size would be 245/45/19 since the stock 20's are 245/40

@Altered, thank you for your feedback. Why would I need coils if I use 19" rims? To compensate for the extra wheel gap?

@Don_BlaZe34 according to 1010tires, the stock size is 245/40/20. Throwing my speedometer off? How off? lol.

Right, as I stated the stock size is 245/40, the 20 was implied.

I actually take back my initial comment about it working...it will physically work/fit on the car but you'll be more than 3% (3.5% to be exact) off on the speedometer. So when you're going 60mph, your speedometer will read 57.9mph

To get closer to the stock size you'll need 245/45/19 tires

I hope this helps.

Yes that is what I meant, you don't physically need coilovers to install the 19's, but in my opinion aesthetically you do lol.

@Vinny I recently went through the same dilemma as you. I chose to go with 20" square setup from stock 18" on my '12 AWD. I don't want to deal with the tire rotation pain and that is why i stayed away from staggered. I get the tires and wheel installed this week.

As for coils on your car.. To give it attitude with will have to lower the altitude. I will I will go the bc coil over route at some point soon.
