ok so i'm looking into getting rims for my 240....i dont want to spend more than 800 bucks including tires and i'm leaning toward the five spoke style...so here's my question...how big could i go without it it making my car look retarded. i'm wanting something like 15's or 16's but i've seen some 240's on 16's without a drop that look like they REALLY need to be lowered...i dont really want to lower my car because i bottom out enough as is and i'm getting a new paint job next week and i dont want to be scaping it up. so if i got some 15's would it right about the same as stock? also what offset would you suggest? and would you suggest spacers?...i was thinking of putting this in the tire forum but i figure that different cars look differently with rims and so you guys would better know. thanks for the help in advance

15's are stock. If you want wheels that look stock size, get them. Stock 240sx's look like they need to be lowered, with wheels your car will look stipud not lowered. You dont have to slam it, but defenitly will need to be lowered. IMHO, aftermarket 15's in a spoke style will look really small. Get real offsets, it's pointless to spend money on wheels and spacers.

as for the offset, something around +10 for a 7" wheel will be flush.

i was thinking about getting some pro springs but i'm bottoming out all the time riding stock so i could only imagine an inch or two lower, plus then wouldnt i have to get shocks too? that would set me back about five to six hundred not including installation

I've got 17x8.5 (235/45/17)in front and 17x9.5 (275/40/17)in the back. Its flush with the sides of the car. The back is pretty much full, but the front has a little bit of space. Could probably use a 1" drop. (Enkei RPM2 (gunmetal)/ Falken GRB FK-451)

I bottom out on tiny speedbumps in my apartment park lot if I go over them straight. I have stock suspension. In order to avoid them I have to use that little dip in the middle and run 1 tire through it. I don't want to take them sideways if I can avoid it because:1) It's slow as crap, you're supposed to be able to take most speedbumps at 15.2) You look like an idiot going over speedbumps sideways.

um ok either your exhaust is falling off is why you are bottoming out, or thoes tiny speedbumps are actually curbs. stock 240sx has oodles of ground clearance, if you are scraping you are doing somthing terribly wrong.

and woah if you are going over speedbumps at 15 you need to sell your car to somone who will take care of it, stop breaking it. if i went over a speedbump at 15 mph my car would EXPLODE
