This is the deal. I bought my brand new 19x9.5 +40 offset Axis elite yesterday for only $450 and is now at my friends powder coating shop to make it 2 tone black and white. I'm sticking with no drop on my car but my question is how can I cheat it with tire sizes to look like I had 1" drop if its possible. Hopefully no rubbing.

not sure on the numbers but I would think the tire would have to be substantially larger and throw your speedometer way off. I would just get the right size tire and see what it looks like.

Then if you don't like it at least consider a drop unless you have a reeeeally steep driveway or you have really crappy roads. If i'm not mistaken I think the H&R springs don't lower AS much as the eibachs, but they will be similar.

I have three sizes in mind. Either 245/40/19 or go with 255/35/19 or 245/35/19. Roads here are shotgun by the way. What chu think?

Just do some simple math =] Measure your current wheel and tire combo and get the total diameter. Do you want a 1 inch drop as in you want your wheel gap to go down by 1 inch or do you want to sit 1 inch lower to the ground?

If you want to sit lower to the ground then make sure your tire / wheel combo diameter is 1 inch smaller than your stock setup. Do the opposite if you want to eliminate 1 inch of wheel gap, but this will obviously make your car sit higher (and vice versa)

245/40/19 is the closest to stock size, but you'll have a stock sized wheel gap. if you want to cheat trying to get the lowered look without being lowered, then you need something like 245/50/19. this will give you more tire which will get your tires closer to your fenders, but your whole car will be raised as well. i don't know if something that size will rub though, but i don't think it would, it's not a huge difference.

Ok now you guys just convinced me on a drop lol. I finally purchased the h&r springs for only $113 by the way + $20 on shipping. So yea ill be running a 245/40/19 on a 19x9.5. So once I drop the car, do I have to roll my fenders or make any modifications? A lot of people recommend a Camber bolt kit so to have a + camber. So you guys think this set up is ok without rubs and modifications? Thnx

I have the same size wheel and tire combo and you won't have to roll your fenders and no mods are needed. You won't really need to adjust the camber since the drop isn't that low and also you don't ever want positive camber. I've been on 19s and eibachs for about 2.5 years and I have about 1 to 1.5 degrees of neg. camber in the rear and about 1.5 degrees of neg. camber on the front which isn't really enough to effect tire wear.

Thank you rcboy for the clarification. I'll install my h&r next week. But I'm pretty sure alignment is needed after I lower it correct? Pics soon hehe
