Hey guys,

I don't know much about this stuff so I had a quick question. Thinking about getting some chrome rims for my 04 g35. How big do you guys suggest going without sacrificing comfort and performance? Also, would u recommend a lower profile or a higher profile tire? Thanks.

i got 20" chrome rims on my car that the previous owner put on. it would have been better if its staggered and had more aggressive offsets... im running 245/35/20 tires and my only complaint is you can feel pretty much every bump on the road and lane changing is pretty loud when you run over the reflector pieces. of course i have no comparison since i never had stock rims... but with bigger rims you'd have to get lower profile tires to avoid rubbing issues.

If you get the right design and have the car lowered, 18s look great.

The problem with 19s is that the ride comfort is compromised and tires get ridiculously expensive. 20s have cheaper tires, but ride comfort gets even worse.

Between the type of tires and my 19s, I can tell what type of pavement I'm on because of vibration (not exactly, but there is a significant difference).

I pretty much want a set that are pretty similar to my stock set. I just want them to be chrome rather than the gun medal. Here's what i'm thinking.

They look great, but I'd never put them on my G. Those things weigh a ton and you'd feel the difference

19s are pushing 30lbs versus the stock 19s which weigh in around 19-21lbs.

I'm all for customizing your car, but you might consider getting a set of chromed factory rims instead.
