Hey guys and gals, I posted this in a semi-related thread, but it got minimal responses. I need some help before this weekend, so here goes.

I found some rims on craigs list that i really like and are a great price. only issue i have is the dimensions. they are 205/40/16 in front and 205/45/16 on the rear. will this be an issue? will they fit? are there ANY forseeable problems, or am i green to go? i trust the opinion of this forum and i will will make no action until ive recieved it. thanks to all.

you need to make sure that they are the correct lug pattern and offset. i dont believe the sizes you have there will be an issue, although the more common size for 16" wheels is around 195/60/16 i think. thats coming just from my own research in looking for wheels.

there are some other members that may have some more/better info but the basic thing you need to look at is lug pattern. i think the V lug pattern is 4/100mm or 4/110mm something like that.

remember, not ALL wheels will fit ALL cars. my suggestion, go to mrtire.com or something LIKE that, and enter in your car info, and look at the information for the wheels that they list for our cars. MrTire.com has a bunch, and they even have a program that you can customize to look JUST like your car, and put different types of wheels on it.

The Versa's wheel bolt pattern is 4X114.3mm also referred to 4X4.5in.

The tires that your are looking at are quite a bit shorter than the stock rolling diameter resulting in a lot of speedometer error. For a 16" rim, the proper size is either a 195/55-16 or 205/55-16.

4x114.3 i'll have to note that. thnaks

i was pretty close on the 16" size

but i guess PIMPnifico, your answer is no, you shouldn't use those, not with tire size 205/40 or 45 anyway. the wheels should be fine, but i'd say get some new, better fitting tires. as versa madness said, 195(205)/55/R16 would be the right ones.

awesome, thanks for the info guys. so the rims should be ok as long as they fit the 4x4.5 or 4x114.3 bolt pattern? and get new tires.

The only other question about the rims fitting would be the back spacing. If they came off of a front wheel drive vehicle then they should be fine. Off of a rear wheel drive car could be "dished out" to much to fit properly.

Another good fit in the 16" tire size would be a 215/50-16. Has the same EXACT tire height as stock (no speedo error) with a wider foot print for added grip.

Does it make a huge difference if the rims are a different offset then what the car calls for? I too have some 16in rims but im not sure about the offset of them. Will it do anything to the car if its a different offset? also does the weight of them make a difference? because i noticed that they are alot heavier then the stock rims.thanks for any info

Best bet is to do some measuring and calculations.

Here's a calculator:http://www.venommotorsports.co...r.asp

Just go out and measure the differences on your car.

215/60R16's will cause a speed reading error of about -4MPH (traveling at 64 when the speedometer reads 60).

185/65R15 = 24.5in diam215/60R16 = 26.2in diam

That's a heck of a difference. 215/50R16 will retain the stock diameter of exactly 24.5in.
