I have a freshly damaged front right rim on my brand new G37S Coupe. First time (and freakin last time) I let someone else drive the car and they found a curb to run it into. The rim is beat to hell with damage around the entire circumference, not just little scratches or chips but major damage IMO. What are my options to replace or fix? I called the dealer and they want basically $800 for a new 19" x 8.5 rim. I don't want to spend that much but I will if its my only option. Dealer mentioned outsourcing to a vendor to recondition the wheel but I think its beyond that.

Also, if I have to bite the bullet and get a new one should I also request an alignment check to make sure everything else is ok?

Thanks for any help on this.

Youre from Costa Mesa? When I lived in Corona Del Mar, I had a place called Velvet Touch repair my one rim that was bent. But they also can fix curb rashes iirc. They come over to your place to pick it up, fix it, and drop it off again same day. I've heard mixed reviews but I had no problems with them. Try giving them a call 949)836-6164

I had a mobile unit come to the house to fix a slightly bent rim and they also took care of some rash!

You could take a pic of the rim & email it to some local shops that straighten rims to see if it's beyond repair.

I would def have the alignment checked too!!! You could have suspension parts bent as well.

Shouldn't matter how much it is to fix it...b/c it better be the dumbass that curbed it for you paying to make it right again!
