Hi I have a 05 coupe w/sport package and 19s.

I am looking to black out the rims in the style of that great lookingconvertible GTR but need to know what type of coating the rims haveand what to do to remove it. I tried mothers polish to see is I could reach the alum. but no way so can I just prep the rims and paint.

I have seen some anodized but not to my liking.

Any help would be great

Best option: take them to a powder coater. They'll strip and coat them for $200-300.

Cheap option: scuff with a scotchbrite pad, prime, and paint.
