I recently bent my front left rim (minor) and now the car is shaking at around 65 mph. Balancing won't fix this annoying problem so I wondered what is the most economical way to get this fixed.

1) Cost to "stretch" that rim back if that option exists. (will it get rebent after usage?)

2) Swap the full-sized OEM spare in the trunk (but it's not chrome like the other four. Plus can is be chromed? How much?

3) Slap on '06 M45 18" rims (Anyone seen how these look on the Y34?)

4) Replacing all 4 with aftermarket rims? (If I do, what to be cautious of...)

Some answers will be greatly appreciated.

I do not know the cost, but fixing a rim can be done in theory - depending on how much damage was done. How strong it remains after that, is not something I would feel safe about necessarily, but it might be a workable solution. Never drive fast after this, though!

No idea about the chroming. If it is the same wheel exactly otherwise, then this may be the least expensive option! May also be relatively inexpensive to just get a single wheel ... see information on Joe Tsensky below.

Uh, will not fit without spacers (which I consider evil!) The rims have too much offset to fit the 2003 and 2004 M45. Since I consider spacers evil (not everybody does), I would not consider this as a viable option.

Strong wheels! If you want to avoid the same bending problems! And get the correct offset for whatever width you choose to go with. Get a good reputable brand ... even OEM Infiniti ones sometimes pop up on eBay. You can also sometimes get a good deal on take-off rims from a 350Z dealer that will fit. Call Joe Tsensky at http://www.everythinginfiniti.com and see what he will charge for a replacement OEM Infiniti rim for your Y34.

Thanks for the reply. I was also told that the spare does NOT come equipped with a tire pressure monitor device so putting the spare in (my cheapest alternative) will cause the other no give me a readout at all. Silly question, but how would the nonchrome look with the other chromed wheels?

M45 rims are always for sale on ebay... I believe there are a few chrome ones up there for around 200-300.

I read the technology for wheel repair has really taken off and that a repaired wheel is almost the same...as it was brand new....you should search it.....i have a bent wheel also but an aftermarket wheel on another car and they are going to charge me about $125 to repair it....but this is in GA...might be the best option...even if you decide to purchase aftermarket you should still have a back up set
