I have been having problems with the center console window switches working after I had rain get on the console through the sunroof. I pulled the panel and disconnected the plugs from the switches and applied dielectric grease and reinstalled the switches. The left side windows now work from the center console. The left rear passenger window goes up and down, but slowly.

When I move either the front or rear right side console switches I hear clicking in the respective door, so power is getting to the doors. Could the regulators be bad in the front and rear right hand doors or the motors?

Also, why is the rear left passenger window moving slowly?

I have downloaded the FSM, but running down electrical issues is not my strong suit, so any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

It's either the regulator (cable/slider assy.) or the motor. The regulators seem to crack at the cable ends or the cable itself gets frayed and/or doesn't wrap around the drum properly. The window will still roll up and down under all these conditions although it's not going to sound pretty or operate at full speed. Sooner or later it will break. The only way to fully verify whats going on is to take it all out and examine the pieces.

Your rear window is moving slowly so the regulator probably has some kind of damage. The motor is likely fine but may be getting overstressed by the extra work of moving a damaged regulator. The motors are easy to check once you have them out. It's a 2 pin connection so you just need to jumper it to a battery.

There's a third piece of the puzzle in a 94-96 and that is the power window amplifier. I haven't seen any of these go bad but I'm saving a spare set for my own use just in case. This is the part you were asking about in another thread that the window switches (indirectly) plug into. There's one in each door and each is a small LCU computer linking to the BCM. If your window is moving this is probably not the issue.

I'm still a little confused if your center console switches are working or not and on which windows. How about each door mounted window switch? Remote opener when you hold down the unlock button for a few seconds? I think you should definately pull the regulator on the PR door and see what's going on.

What type of battery to I jump it to, the car battery or something smaller?

I need to get into the door internals tomorrow and see what is going on with the good door and work from there.

Use a pair of jumpers with the same size wire as the connector to your car battery.
