One of your connectors probably got loose. Reseat them all.

Possibly but not likely to be. Is the connector that goes into the headlight corroded?

Could be the headlamp timer. It activates a relay (headlamp retract) that opens the lighting circuit while the pop up motor is working. check the retract relay for that side to see if the timer is keeping it active. A test light across the solenoid contacts will tell you that. if it lights up, you got a problem. Also, try another relay in that socket The relay could have failed in a closed position.

to see if the relay is the problem, just unplug the motors. and turn on. also check your little fuse box by the coolant resevoir.

Unplugging the motors only tests the headlamp timer. If a relay is stuck/burnt out, the unplug motor trick won't work.

Also, to properly test the timer, I would take a test light to the motors as well and check for a constant light from the Br/W wire to a good ground. If that one is always on, the timer is bad. If you get a positive test light over the relay solenoid, the motor has an issue

Look at the cluster with the headlights on (in your case L. side only) now turn on the high beams - check for the hb indicator light in the cluster- if it is NOT on then the issue is likely your combination switch- if you have a wiring schematic you can see how the hb indicator light is connected to the right side headlight-- We have had this issue happen twice in our fleet of S13s -- replaced the combination switch - problem fixed
