Has any DIY's attempted to replace Right rear wheel bearing? I have purchased parts needed from Joe . Trying to find threads on this subject related to G50. Too much noticable noise coming from right rear. replacement was suggugested by local shop. quoted 3hrs labor.

Looking some knowledgable feedback/suggestions on this topic.

Thanks!!~KD

Nothing knowledgable here... luckliy I have never done this. Are you replacing the entire hub assembly, or just the bearing? Do you have the FSM? If not let us know and maybe we can help...

you are going to be replacing the hub with the bearing (you can only buy the hub+bearing from Joe).

its not terribly hard... you have to remove the halfshaft, disassemble the E brake and its just held onto the spindle with a few fastners...

Biggest part is getting the massive nut taken care of... I was only able to get it off with an impact, i broke a breaker bar trying to get it off!

What a whimpy breaker bar! Luckily many Q techs worked on Diesel Semi in previous training/life so good big tools are sometimes necessary.

You would be surprised at how many snap on tools snap each year even the best most expensive are not forever.

You might as well change both rear at the same time only a matter of time when one goes.Make sure the rear rotor are true...........failure to keep them and tires/shocks creates vibrations which attack bearings.

Keep a car long enough and you will have a small list of components THAT HAVEN'T BEEN CHANGED............on the back of a business card.

FSM?? Is that the service manual? if so. yes. If not, break it down plz. Replacing entire hub. part# 43202 & 43280 (was 43210 ) full diagram from Joe.

Your right about that big nut Elwesso. Don't have an impact.. gotta work on that!! QTech your right, matter of time before the otherside starts 2 irritate me. Tires are new. but it's time for new Brembos. Shocks are presently good , will be changing to T-Blues this year.

Q1990 thanks for the reminder Search button...LOL I try to do my reSEARCH before askin..But Dang..eyes start to cross.

Yes, but they are always replaced, no questions asked.

That's just part of my signature line... not directed at you specifically! I agree... from time to time I'll search something and it can get tedious.
