there is a short somewhere, check the wires to make sure none are cut or the conduit is ripped off. also if water gets into the electrical connections it could cause a short

not that i know of, but i'm no expert. i guess there could possibley be a common problem area, but not that i know of. all i can do is speculate unless i actually saw the car.

There are many places where the wiring could be meeting. Hence my saying "multimeter time" since you'll need one to sniff out the source of the short. I'd start checking out the switch at the steering column to make sure it's not shorting there then work your way down to the smj to the front of the car. Also make sure you don't have carbon buildup at your bulb plugs which could also be causing the electricals to go goofy.

It may be your switch. I had some funky headlight problems when I got my car, and it ended up just being the switch. The contacts get worn out, there is also a built in relay on the switch.

My gauge lights would barely light up, but after I replaced the switch they worked great. I did not have any issues with fuses blowing though, so it could be chaffed wires. If it is not the switch itself it is probably the wires right near the switch.

If you know someone that lives close you can swap thier switch to see if that is the problem before you spend $35.
