It would if the firewall was completely flat. But it's not. I thought the same thing before I did my RHD S14 conversion. That is, until I got digging around and looking at the firewall of my 240 S14, and my S14 Silvia clip's firewall. Trust me when I tell you, if you want to do it right, and have shyt actually line up and work (like the steering column, cluth and brake cylinders), get a Silvia clip, cut the firewall out, and weld it into your 240...

you're not cutting your car in half, just the part that separates you from the engine compartment. Shouldnt be too hard. Just follow the lines....and learn how to weld properly....

ive got my clip, s13 and im swaping the engine into a s13 240, the fire walls look identical, except for the right hand drive of course. has anyone done this conversion, and can it be done without welding?

my fc came with dash, steering collum, axle, brakes, etc. it is the front half of the car. cut off behind the transmission and at the windshield. it has all the parts for the sr swap and the rhd conversion. the back firewall on my clip and my 240 look identical, except for the placement of the steering and brake booster/master cylender. im not going to be welding anything for the engine swap. and im not planning on welding for the rhd conv. ive got pics of the beginning of my project, and as soon as i can figure out how to get them on the computer and post them, i do that

I seriously doubt that you can do the RHD conv. w/o welding. The firewall, as far as I know, is welded on. So in turn, you'd have to weld yours off and weld the new one on.

Rich: A Front Clip is basically the whole front end of the car (usually JDM 180sx/silvia cars). Its a good way to make sure all your parts come in tact when you're ready to do the SR swap.....comes with everything you need

i just talked to a welder who said that if i weld in the fire wall, than stress put on the body will make it start to crack along the welds. i dont want to take a chance that in a few years my car is going to look like $#!+. has anyone else heard of this happening?

I wouldn't cut the fire wall. It is a very strong point of the car and if you don't kow what your doing it will completly mess up your car. You do realize the console is different as well. So what advantages does rhd give you? Other than difficulty passing and drive throughs being useless?

yeah it's pretty much pointless to spend all that time and money on converting to right hand drive just so you can look cool in the eyes of all the ricers out there. but hey if you wanna jump on the jdm band wagon go ahead.
