Hrm.. This is the actual wheel that I purchased: http://www.discounttire.com/dt...IQSTAI got them 3 months ago and didn't noticed them until I had some people sit in my back seat. Then it was absolutely horrible, I couldn't go 10 feet without scrapping noises!

"18X7.5 5-114.3 45S"

Was that the specs of your wheels too? If so, it's definitely only a tire problem and not the wheels. 7.5" wide with a +45 offset will clear with no problems. Maybe you should check the inside of your wheels for the exact size. It will look something like:

18x7.5 +4518x8 +35

and so on. I'm thinking they may have sent you the wrong size because I honestly see no rubbing issues with a 1/2" taller tire at 7.5" wide. The Altima's have a lot of clearance room in the well and that 1/2" shouldn't matter from the amount of space that's left to play with. Some guys are running 20" wheels with a +35 offset without any rubbing.

Hrm.. I looked all over the inside of the wheel and didn't see any numbers and as far as I know, "18X7.5 5-114.3 45S" are the specs. So..do we think Discount Tire would take care of this? Or would they make me buy new wheels/tires?

THANKS SOO MUCH!

I would contact their customer service and explain the whole situation. Is the tire you have the ones THEY recommended? If so, I would explain to them that those are the wrong size. 235/50/18 is WAY to big over factory specs. They should've recommended a 235/45/18 or 225/45/18. And being a tire shop, they should've known. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll give you a new set. Or at least give you a discount of some sort and pro-rate the tires you have now or something. If these were their recommendation, I'd make a HUGE stink about it until they corrected the problem that THEY made. Good luck!

Cool. Thanks. And yes, this was the tire/rim package that they set up. I'll see what I can do and report back on what happens. thanks all!

If it's over 27.1, according to their own information, they will have to replace it for you with a shorter side wall.
Remember these figures, casue if they sold you something over 27.1 it's not within their own MAX SIZE specs, and they will have to replace it.

do you have drop springs with your 18's? Was wondering if they will fit with the new 08 coupe.

And i must say that i dont agree with the guys who say its "too big" or complain about the impact on the speed of the car... mine are heavy because i got them cheap... you can get lightweight wheels... But what you dont get with 18"s is the looks, and the questions.... They put 18"s on lots of stock cars now, so its not that big of a change... Ive been asked numerous times "damn how big are those bad boys"... and "i like what youve done with it"... If i had 18"s with led lights built into them that danced to the trans-siberian orchestra i dont think 18"s get the same looks
I don't know how pot holes and road conditions are in NY but here in OH they're terrible at times...that's why I've been a little discouraged about gettin 20's...yeah they would look tight but one bad hit with a deep pot hole would mess it up I believe. I know what your thinking, just avoid them even if you have to drive off the road but sometimes you're in a hurry to go somewhere and one comes out of nowhere and it becomes unavoidable...any experience with hitting one with your dubs, LongBeachCoupe???

Hey....

Right now i'm working on changing wheels for an alti coupe 2008.I've read here that 235/50/18 would be way to big.....perhaps 225/50/18 might fit, but 235/45/18 is a sure thing....

In my experience.... talking about bumps and holes.... big rims look great, but they are also EXTREMELY delicate. even though you set the tires to a very high pressure, the rim still gets hurt very easily...and once any rim get hurt, no matter how good the repair shop is, it will never be the same.... the car will always vibrate at speeds above 60mph and the wheel will always have trouble. at least that was my personal experience.-.. thats why i'm looking for at least 45 face tires. anything beneath that will cause me trouble specially with the roads down here.
