"but only one Sopwith Camel!" That is honestly the nicest thing I have read today... ;oD
I would like to say that I didn't think I stood a change since I didn't feel I had spent a whole lot of $$ on the car... But this has made me realize that it has more to do with expressing an idea effectively... And I take pride in the fact that I did all that to the Camel. I painted it, I placed everything... I didn't cut my own decals, but I had to design them and draw them out to scale and present them to the sign shop. (and never fear, the YouTube video was from the old Camel and this one went bare for awhile while the sign shop made modifications to the old design and then cut the new ones - they're there now!!)
Would it have been better if I had paid lots of money to have someone else do all this stuff? If I had bought new wheels? If I had my decals painted on instead? The way I see it, my hand was in everything that went on with the Camel and every time I look at it I can say, "I did that."
You've just got to do whatever is in your heart, and the Camel is just a reflection of me and how I interpret the world of my cool car.
For the record: It was 12 cans of spray paint, three screw drivers, needle-nosed pliers, Undu, emblems, 2 car stands, 1 car jack, two socket wrenches, four decals, lots of love, and attention to detail. It does take more than spray paint, it takes heart and patience.
That being said, today was an upside down day and I've had things come up that I've got to take care of so I'm probably going to be MIA until Wednesday. Hopefully at which time I can get my photos taken, but I probably won't get to finish the last minute stuff I'd like to. Life happens. I give permission to break out the kegger ;oD
