Thanks for the link....Sweet ride.

What is this supposed to read?

Quote »With this setup up it has 2psi at 3000rpm and the full 10psi by about 2800rpm but is in no way restricting up high.[/quote]

It should say 2psi at 2000rpm.

Congrats man!!!! Definitely and awesome truck! Can you provide more info on what you did to the transmission? There are those of us who prefer to sip our coffees while smoking mustangs :-)

0275 330637 I cancelled my private cellphone and just use work one now.

The biggest mod to the trans is a manual valve body from Wholesale Automatics in Australia. It is the only manual VB I could find and it is also rated for 450kw (600hp) without overheating. Mine is putting out about 520-530hp (flywheel) and the auto hardly goes over 80*c so it is definitely doing to job. Every thing else is just off the shelf bits that are standard everyday auto upgrades. eg better frictions etc. The torque converter has had the spline welded in but otherwise is also pretty much standard. Basically it is all in the valve body! It runs higher line pressure, n accumulator piston springs and being fully manual it is a hydraulic shift for 1 2 and 3. Only 4th uses a solenoid. The harder you drive the smoother it shifts. At low revs it is a pretty clucky gear charge but shifting on the rev limiter at full throttle is a vert smooth change wih no slip etc. I use the rev limiter as a shift point when in a comp.

Oi Daz, show us some piccies of the turbo postioning and manifolds please! Do you think that maybe the TO4Z is a little restrictive for the size of the motor?

The TO4z on mine is rated for about 85lbs of air (800hp) and I think for the hp I'm running it only needs about 60 lbs so in fact it is boardline being to big! It is still restricted to 6000rpm due to the wastegate being on the limit and the injectors being at 87%. The 50mm wastegate is struggling to keep boost under control at higher revs not low revs so I would think that the turbo si definitely not restrictive. It is only putting in 10psi don't forget but even still we tossed the idea around of running a 3540 to get more bottom end!

Wouldn't it be cheaper to slap a bigger (or another) wastegate on there and upgrade the injectors, rather than paying for a GT3540? :p

The option was to go with internal wg 3540's as it would simplify exhuasts. You have to remember I bury it is s*** all the time so keeping it simple is a pretty big factor in keeping it reliable.I've ported the wastegate a bit and that has stopped the boost creep so I'm pretty confident we can go to 7000rpm with this setup after the new injectors that is. In hindsight i would have gone for a twin turbo as it would be simpler than the single. s*** happens but it may mean a single turbo setup will be for sale soon. Well after the economy picks up and I can spend some more money that is!!!!!!!!!
