My daughter just bought a 2000 Q45T with 49,884 miles on it. I was thinking of possibly buying a used Q45 or Q45T for myself, but I want to know if anyone who has owned or driven both has any recommendation as to which type to buy? The T version is supposed to give you a choice of rides, but to tell you the truth on the short ride I took in my daughters before she immediately took it from California to Colorado I didn't see any big difference in the rides between the two modes, they both seemed kind of harsh for a luxury car, but maybe that was because the tension rods needed replacement or maybe because the low profile tires on the 17 inch rims that come standard on the T don't absorb shocks as well as high profile tires would. There is also the added cost and complexity of the T adjustable shocks over the standard shocks if they ever need to be replaced. A mechanic noticed a very small amount of seepage from the rear drivers side shock on her car, maybe the shocks need replacing. So if you were going to buy a used Q45 would you buy a standard version or the T version. For used ones the difference in price is usually only a few hundred dollars, so my decision would be which version gives the better ride, and which version would be more reliable. Would appreciate any comments from anyone familiar with both versions.

The most important important thing in purchasing a perviously owned automobile is maintenance history and condition.

In the FGY33, the 1999-2001 have some nice improvements in safety and convenience over the 1997-1998.

When we shopped for a car for my wife, we bought a standard 2000, but if any of the other ae or t we drove had been in better shape, we would have bought one of those.

Personally, I found the adjustable ride a little harsh and the standard ride plenty firm.

Haven't I already answered this question once before?
