Hey guys,I have done some work on my vert, but am at a cross roads. There are probably lots of things in need, but I need a ride in something to see what it could become. I need to see if I can get motivated to continue working on it. I have done all the basic revival, and replaced the top. Now I need to consider all new struts (or go coils), rims, tires, brakes, and something for a little more power (she's a dog compared to my other projects). I have kind of lost steam though, so I was wondering if there are any of you out there that would be interested in a free lunch and you are in the Southern LA or OC area (California). I would just like to see, feel, sense, what is possible and get motivated again.

This was my top replacement project that I posted. zerothread/289735

I live in southern OC, but can meet just about anywhere within an hour or so. All my buddies are WRX and Evo track rats (I have a WRX as well), so I need some 240 inspiration.

peaceThanksMike

Yup, that's what got me this far, but now I need to unload a bunch of cash to get any further, and I wanted to experience what some other people had done first hand. My vert is pretty old and soft, with no power whatsoever. I just wanted to make sure that it would be worth it even without and SR20 swap etc.

No takers for a free lunch? Come on guys.....

From all the research I've done, you can boost your stock KA reliably for pretty darn cheap... Just do it.

Weird, It double posted that older post?

Thanks for the feedback, now I need some SoCal folks to chime in. Do you guys think its a fit to boost the stock KA, but leave in the slush box auto? Does that even make sense?

Ka-t for the win! I'm in socal and doing the same thing, just at a slower pace lol. The only thing my vert has is a 5speed and it's pretty fun.

Yeah, I probably could. Just need to find scheduling where I can get away. I am crazy busy all the time, which is my biggest problem with all my car hobbies. The Top isn't as bad as it sounds, but I took weeks to do it, which took the pressure off. I could take my time, redo things, redo them again, take them off, paint parts, think, do it again. Most people can't do that, cause they need to drive the thing to work.

Did you do the 5speed yourself? How was it? How much was it? etc.

Do you have stock suspension?

Word, well my vert is gonna have a downtime when I begin to gut it and paint it, and that's when I want to replace the top. After it's painted.

I bought my vert w/ the 5 speed, the guy who did it said he can do it, but I think it was for 500bucks, I don't know if that was including the parts.

I have stock suspension but I think I'm gonna go with SPL arms and rods, and maybe just some shocks and springs.

And yeah I know your busy, you look like you have a cool life though ahah, I wish I played the piano better, but I'm really interested in doing my top. So yeah just let me know. If you have AIM my sn is "monkieae86"

thanks,Alvin
