Ok this isn't really a riddle and i know if i go to any of the engine pages they would all be bais to there engine forums...so keep this in mind DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR what engine would you bye... SR20DET.....205HP.....$2,300 give or take CA18DET.....175HP.....$1,800 " KA24DE.......155HP.....$600 "

for me at least i'll get the ka and get parts for that just because i will have money left over they can give out some outstanding results if done correctly like Chris May's 438hp KA24DE-T (SPC Drift Machine May 2k2 vl 14 no.05)...im not talking bs parts neither (no offense cause i got these things too but intake and exhaust)

^heh, if your using chris may as an example, chris went through atleast 3 KA's as far as i know before achieveing that, so multiply that KA by 3, and get 1800, and u still dont have a turbo setup like the others, or a motor that can handle boost : )

I would probably go with the SR. CA would be a close second, and probably first if I were going to build a serious racing motor.

I H8 UR DSM is right. chris went through 3 motors, and had more problems than just that.

If its an s13, I'd go CA. If its a s14, I'd go RB or VG. VG30ET can be purchased for cheap, its an older motor, so it might need some work, but a real good bang for the buck. I am seriously considering this swap at the moment, but big $$$ on custom install parts.

just me

but just cause chris may had problems doesn't mean you will. Plus even if you turbo and blow a KA, just pull another KA and swap the turbo on that, good tuning is the key :) The KA is a wonderful platform especially if you learning.

It means they are bumping the thread back to the top of the list, in an effort to keep it alive.
