Yeah, so I guess I didn't learn when I was a kid to look at a label before you assume you know what is in a container...

Thought I had grabbed brake fluid and grabbed ATF instead to fill up my M/C. The clutch seems to still work ok, and I know that I need to rectify this ASAP, but what kind of damage could my dumb a$$ have done this time? Thanks folks!

I don't think you have anything to worry about the clutch M/C just uses fluids to pump the slave. I'm pretty sure that there are no chemicals in the ATF that will mess up your M/C. Just flush and refill with Brake fluid

Well, I don't think that it will do too much damage, but me personally, I would freak out because I'm paranoid like that.

i know people have put motor oil in it and have mesed up the seals, if you flush it REAL well, you should be alright, but i would watch it and if you think any seals are starting to go, replace the parts.

I don't think ATF is going to do anything to it. Oil != ATF at all.

WTF does "!=" mean? Never seen that before.

I am going to drain and flush as soon as I can. Prob. gonna skip classes tomorrow and take care of it. I have only had it in there for a few days, and it wasn't empty so it's not 100% ATF.

<- English major. I don't do programming. Took a class in C++ and I wouldn't even touch a computer for about 3 years unless I had to.

100% true story.

So you sit in front of math problems all day just like my roommate (he's ME as well). Gee, that sounds all together WAY more fun than programming

friend screwed up and put atf in my civics master clynder. Didn't catch it till it was too late. It enlarged the seals. Had to replace clutch master and slave cylinder and flush the system real good. Hope all turns out well.

See, I would have thought that the seals would be fine with ATF since the seals in an auto transmission have such close tolerances. I just love how Mamma Nature dumps rain and hail all over me when I need to crawl under my car and actually fix something...
