Still waiting on the adjustor to come look at my car. Still not sure whether I want to buy my car back if its totalled(which it probably is) and fix it or just part it out. I loved my car some I'm thinkin about fixing it. Any suggestions would be appreciated, especially if they will help me not get screwed by the insurance company.

Well I got a little bit lucky and the body got no damage besides a few silver dollar sized scratches on the passenger side fender. I sure as hell hope its savable too. I'm trying to get the insurance company to come look at it soon so i can start stripping the interior and cleaning everything that can be cleaned.

No matter HOW tempting, do NOT try to rehab a car that's been in a flood.

You'll be FAR better off taking the check (don't accept their first offer), buying it back, parting it out, and replacing with another 240.

Trust me on this one, I have seen several flood damaged cars turn into bottomless money pits. Cleaning it is the LEAST of your concerns.

It will never be able to have a clean title, most states won't let you carry full coverage on it, and it'll have electrical and mechanical gremlins and problems for the rest of its life.

I'm sorry about what happened, but Greg's right about flood cars, they're just bad news. When ya part it out, lemme know--there's probly a few things ont hat car I'd like if you're done with them that is. Seats, front end, 5lug stuff if it has it. I'll come pick it up too.

it's bad...but that wouldn't make me give up on it. If you don't want a salvage title, just don't report it. BTW, a power washer will become you best new friend.

All electrical components will have to be replaced.

The HVAC will no longer work (grit in the air door sliders).

The engine is history.

Trans is history.

ECU fried, TCU fried, body control module fried.

Door lockers, window motors, wiper motors - all dead. Or they will be when / if you first use them.

All bulb sockets have to be replaced, as well as a lot of the wiring harnesses.

Seat foam, carpet and door panels are shot. Gauges will be garbage. Radio is history. Speakers are toast.

It's a parts car.

Having said that, I am terribly sorry to hear about your car - I'll bet it was GORGEOUS before, i absolutely love the 97-98 240's. Hot.

Man that sucks, such a nice car, so young.... hope you get the proper compensation for it. If you do get to buy it back for cheap i'm pretty sure you could part out alot of the body and plastic interior.

Damn that sucks big time. One of my favoriite S14 colors too. I say buy it back. There's probably gonna be some people interested in the body parts. Good luck on finding another 240. Hopefully you can get another 97 or 98 to replace that.

Thanks for all your support guys. Well the adjustor finally stopped by today while nobody was home so I wasn't able to talk to him about the buy back but I'm definatly planning on buying it back, just need to clear up a few things with the adjustor be for I do. He sent off his assesment to the main office today and he said there should be an estimate of what I will be getting by the end of the week. I already found a KA-T 240 for sale in VA with a few probs that could be fixed with some parts on my car so it looks like thats what I'm gonna be doing. I'll keep everyone posted on what happens with the insurance company, and again thanks to everyone for their help and support.
