Hello all, i'm presently running a t28 and my fuel setup consist of 370cc injectors, 255lph walbro, and a safcII to tune with. I have read over and over again to run -27 across the lo and hi throttle. Now when I do this my car hesitates to start, runs ultra rich and rough at idle. But playing with the safcII and turning down the idle to -47 it runs perfect, no hesitation to start or roughness. Does this seem correct to you all or am I just that paranoid.

Thanks Chris

Did you make sure that you have the MAF settings right. That can cause HUGE problems.

Yes the maf settings are correct, because I had the safcII installed before the injectors with absolutly no problems.

get your car tuned. thats the only solution to verifying wether you have the correct afr, it could be more to it then just fuel tuning to get your car to idel correctly.

jookmasta is using a z32 fuel pump, and 1wheelwonder is using a walbro 255. the only thing that should slightly adjust the amount of fuel that they use is the pressure that each pump puts out.

personally i wouldnt drive my car around unless its striat to a wideband for tuning.

I have got it set at 4cyl with arrow up, 2in 2out(If I remeber correctly, that's for factory maf for now), -27 across the hi, -27 across the low except for the 1000ne point where I am running at -47 as of now.

Factory MAF is 5in, 5out. Fix that first.

It was 5in 5out, that was human error on my behalf, sorry. But the thing is it ran fine when I just had the safcII hooked up on the motor before I installed the injectors. I checked the o-rings and the maf voltage and everything is fine. I'm stumped.

whoa, are u boosting at the moment? if so ur safc settings are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy off. as a matter of fact, if u are boosting, u are really really lean. get a hold of a wideband or get to a dyno asap cuz u need to not be cutting back so much fuel.

if ur not boosting, those settings are fine for NA

The walbro 255 can bump the fuel pressure in the system like 4PSI. This can cause you to run rich at -27% while somebody else with the same injectors but a lesser pump will run just fine. Also, the injectors you've got could have been opened up. I know it can be done although I don't know how.

If it idles fine at -41% then it is a good starting point. But please get at least an EGT to fine out if your running rich or lean. Another way is to setup the SAFC, drive around for a bit (try not to boost) and check your spark plugs.

Thanks for the help everyone, I've ordered my plx wideband; therefore, I will get to the bottom of this problem.
