i recently converted my KA back to stock. i switched from z32 maf to stock maf, and switched from 480cc back to 270cc. i am still running my walbro fuel pump (i tossed my stock one). after i switched both back, i noticed that my car was running real rich according to my wideband. 10.5 afrs at idle and across the whole map. i had to set -30% correction on my safc2 just so it would idle at 14.2 afr.

i dont think my injectors would be leaking because i swapped the whole fuel rail and never pulled the injectors out. would a bad FPR cause my rich condition? or would running my walbro pump instead of my stock one cause the rich condition?

Sounds like maybe a faulty FPR, I had a simillar problem but in my case the vacume hose came off my FPR so it was alwayes opened to max. It's definetly not your Pump I ran one on a stock S13 for a year never had a problem. Also were you runing a JWT or something of that sort tuned for different injectors?

yeah, i also hate that thing...

one time i accidently nudged it loose when i was working on my car and then the car wouldnt start when it was hot. i thought it was my starter so i swapped in a new starter. same thing happened! it still wouldnt start when it was hot. so i changed my plugs and still nothing. when i pushed started the car, it would run but wouldnt fire up when its hot. i managed to push in all the sensors that were lose in a desperation move to try and see what the problem was. low and behold it was the loose coolant temp sensor!

i checked my coolant temp sensor this time and it is plugged in fine. i think i might just change the fpr and see what happens...

yeah that a good idea and available everywhere.

Now i was researching KAT for about a year until i realized im so broke..... BUT from what i remember in almost EVERY situation is that the Walbro is too much for a stock KA. I thought i remember everyone asying they were running rich. So i wish that one guy didnt say he had that setup and it was fine....

i still think its worth checking because i think its the walbro. if you do enough searching you might find this to be conclusive, or complete bull****

alot of people say that walbro's increase fuel pressure wont matter on a stock FPR because the FPR regulates certain amount of pressure going to the injectors so i guess it doesnt matter unless the FPR is dead... id switch the FPR right now but its so hot here in CALI! just a cool and breezy 114!
