Rice = Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements. People that put a huge spoiler on their car, racing graphics etc. but have far from an ultra performance car.

The term ricer refers to cars with distasteful mods only. You can have a clean honda civic with only functional body mods and high hp and it won't be rice. On the other hand, you can have a civic with a 20 inch wing, racing stripes everywhere, fart-can exhaust and no performance mods. That is rice.

[My opinion of rice isn't just the wings or naws stickers. But also the v6 mustangs running around with cobra badges, wheels, etc. The same for camaros with SS additions.

Ricers are people that put "performance" mods on their car, but they don't perform. Like the giant wings, fart cans, etc.

It's also a reference to your attitude about your mods; i.e. a person saying that adding neon to your car adds 20 extra HP (yes, I've heard that before). Pretty much, ricers make unnecessary mods & of the wrong type.

Some people think my ride is "rice" b/c it has neons on the inside. I don't think so; I think they look nice w/the interior. But it makes no increase on my engine performance; just saps my battery power. Other examples are...

Saying a short ram intake is a "cold air"Stating that your fart can gives you a 20 HP boostBelieving that those crappy Tornado Gas Saver gadgets increase your HP by 15%Saying that a huge wing stolen from a Boeing 747 gives you better traction on your FWD when it can barely go over 80 MPHPutting false labels on your car (i.e. putting GT-R stickers on a Nissan Sentra or putting SiR stickers on a Honda Accord)Cheesy looking/incomplete body kitBolt on exhaust tips from Wal*Mart

I could go on & on, but I'd rather not spam the forum like that. I hate ricers.

All muscle car guys think of imports as ricers. Only if they knew the power of these cars and what they offer. there just so used to seeing big wings and fart cans on that they think of all imports as rice.

Haha "fart-can exhaust". Yeah I love it when theyre only going about 20mph and it sounds like the car is about to explode.

Don't like the term, personally. But it is in reference to those cars that have mods that don't enhance any thing but the over all weight of the car. Pretty doesn't mean fast or agile!

LOL fake ic for the win. Any modded car that isn't to someone elses taste will be called rice, just remember that when you are calling a civic with 3 wings and stickers all over it with purple neons rolls up, and then when someone says the muffler and spoiler you have are rice. Just not to the persons taste, and they are self centered morons usually, they drive all types of cars.

Just my .02

And I have owned mustangs mustangs and 300zxs now looking for a sr20 swapped 240 to trade my 97 Jeep for.

...around here at least, real "ricers" are more or less extinct it seems, as I haven't seen any car too horribly done up in at least a couple years... The frequency is nothing like it used to be.

Is this scenario repeated in other regions as well I wonder.

Possible they've all managed wrapping themselves around trees, replaced the old body panels realizing how little they were getting laid, or "grown up" and graduated to doing silly things to poor 5 year old C-class Benzes and fake M3s (which I have seen more of, but I suppose would be more Schnitzel than rice... or maybe Kraut...)

are you referring to the Inter-fooler?? I see those all the time.

I wish I had a picture of this one ricer in the area with an old EF Civic Hatch...he cut a hole in the hood and ran his intake out it, so his air filter is actually outside of his car. while I'm sure it's functional, I don't think an EF needs a stack like that.

oh then theres this one hispanic guy with an EF hatch (whats the deal here?!) and he has dual exhaust on it that's set up like the HKS Hi-Per for the 300ZX. Only the second muffler is just kinda hanging there....no piping connected.
