im trying to get a front clip to do a sr20det conversion to my 97 240sx ...but while im at it i want to do a right hand drive conversion. i know the more then the basics of what i have to do IE...wiring, relocating the master cylinder/steering..pedals etc, but i want to know if anyone knows of anyone who did it and if there is any subframe changes or something ridiclous? im very serious about this conversion but i cant seem to find any info. thanks guys!

get a clip, cut out the firewall, weld it in...it is more complex than that, have to actually swap over steering wheel, pedals, etc...I'm not the one doing the swap though, I just mostly know about the firewall part

A good friend and I just completed a RHD swap on his 97's 240sx. Not an easy task, and definitely not for you if you dont have faith in your ability. It sure took some big ones to cut that firewall out and really dive into it, but it's finally done. My friend posts on http://www.freshalloy.com under the user name RockSco always under 'advanced 240sx'. Keep an eye on those forums for some pictures of the work in progress and the finished product. I will prolly post some pics here too. Just finished it about 4 hours ago. I learned a lot and have some good ideas on how to do it if I planned another swap. The hard part is getting an absolutely complete clip. JMS and Unstable Hybrids are probably the best to get you set up nicely. Stay tuned.

Isn't a RHD harder/more expensive to license than a regular LHD drive?

because the silvia firewall that you need to use is reverse of the usdm firewall you have in your car right now :)

and you dont have to have a RHD drive car to be a silvia. Think of it this way, if Nissan ever did sell a silvia over here it would be LHD, so by doing the SR swap etc, were just making what nissan should have offered in the first place.
