Sorry for posting here but I started a thread like this in the interior/exterior section and that place is dead and I am planning on doing this pretty soon.

I want to rewire my parking lights to a blue LED that turns on ONLY with a switch in the cabin. They come on with the headlights right now, but I want to disable that and mod it so it has it's own switch...

anyone have any suggestions on how to accomplish this the easiest way ???

Remove the plug from the existing harness or just disconnect the existing plug and buy a spare pigtail. Plug the LED into the pigtail. Run wire from the pigtail to a power and ground of your choice and of course whatever switch you are using. For the power, tap into something that's always on so you can use the switch to turn on the lights whenever. I think its that simple.

That thread is for foglights, but you are wanting to do the same thing except with parking lights, so you can refer to the wiring diagram if you need a visual.
