when i'm stopped at a stop sign or light and press on the gas to go, my car revs ups to @ 4000-4500 rpms and then drops to @ 3000-3500 and satys there - i'm not pushing the car to go, just normal driving. the car doesn't feel like its shifting right - i've had it to the dealer twice now for the problem and this last visit they told me its normal for the car to be doing that. I know someone who has a 2008 g35x and they tell me their car doesn't rev up like mine does. Any suggestions? IS this normal?

Welcome to NICO.

One of the techs will probably chime in with a more accurate response, but it sounds like their could be a problem with the throttle electronics.

That behavior sounds like what the vehicle does when you're trying to launch (as in drag racing). The engine will rev up, then the transmission will engage and you go flying.

That sounds normal to me. It revs up to 4k or so and shifts and drops rpm. The car is capable to shift in almost any rpm. It depends how you drive. You don't have to floor it to shift at 4k. Try to be really gentle to see if it shifts at lower. If you really gentle with the throtle you can shift at 2k.

Have you tried to drive your friends G?

your first vehicle with an adaptive trans huh?

Stop driving the car so hard or take it to the dealer and have them clear whats called your eprom and it will go back to factory till you drive it hard again...

There is most likely no problem with your trans at all, since i have done ZERO valve bodies in those trans' and have only put 1 transmission in because it was slipping and it was driven too long like that a seal went bad which is why it was loosing fluid thats the ONLY case i have seen or heard of thus far with the 07+ X's.
